Included and valued for your difference is how everyone should feel at work. Not just because it’s right, but because we’re all at our best when we’re able to be ourselves.

So, when you join Grant Thornton, we’ll work hard to ensure that’s how you feel. We want you for who you are. We’re excited to see the personality and perspectives you’ll bring to our team because we know we’ll all benefit from them. We have a flexible, non-gender specific 'dress for your diary' policy, allowing all our people to wear what they want and bring the real them to work.

Inclusion, every day

We want Grant Thornton to be a place where everyone is treated fairly and has equal access to opportunities and rewards. But more than that, we want Grant Thornton to be a place where it’s OK to ask questions, where we’re all open to and interested by different perspectives, and where we’re continually learning from and educating each other.

Our ambition is to be fully inclusive every day. We’re proud of what we have achieved so far, but there is still work to do, and we will continuously strive to achieve and sustain our vision.

Diversity of thought, background and experience enables better decision-making, improves the quality of our delivery and helps us to meet the needs of our clients. Our firm is built on people and their ideas, so we want to hear all the new perspectives and fresh thinking you have to offer.

Building your networks

We have a whole host of employee led networks within the firm, allowing people to connect with people they identify with, and learn from others. Some networks are online only communities, whilst others offer both in-person and virtual networking opportunities. Our networks include:

  • EMPOWER, our network supporting disability, mental health and medical conditions
  • Ethnicity network
  • Thrive, our Gender inclusive network
  • Count Us In, our LGBTQIA+ network
  • Social Mobility network
  • Faith networks, including:
    • Christian
    • Hindu
    • Jewish
    • Muslim
    • Sikh
  • A variety of other groups, such as ‘My Family and Me’ (our network for parents and carers), our neurodiversity network, and our Asian Heritage network.

Building an inclusive environment

We have five core strands of I&D – Disability, Ethnicity, Gender, LGBTQIA+, and Social Mobility. We also have a focus on intergenerational diversity across all five strands, and work with some of the UK's leading experts to help drive our strategies and build a more inclusive work culture.

For each strand we have both an SLT sponsor, and a partner convenor who work with our inclusion and diversity teams to ensure we are setting ambitious strategies that will help us achieve our goals.

Explore more about our overarching strands and learn more about the activity within each area on our corporate website below.
