As a Financial Reporting Advisory Director in our CFO Solutions (CFOS) team, you will lead the delivery of high‑quality financial reporting solutions that help organisations navigate complex financial reporting and accounting challenges, adapt to change, and realise their strategic goals. You will shape our market presence, build deep client relationships, and play a pivotal role in the continued growth and development of our service line.
This is a leadership position with significant autonomy, responsibility and influence.

As a Financial Reporting Advisory Director you will play a key role in:
Strategic leadership & department development
- Set the strategic direction of the Financial Reporting offering, ensuring services remain relevant, commercially robust, and aligned to market demand
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high‑performing specialist team, fostering a culture of quality, curiosity, and continuous improvement
- Oversee resource planning and recruitment to ensure the team is appropriately skilled and equipped to deliver
Client advice & delivering excellence
- Act as senior point of contact on complex financial reporting engagements, providing authoritative technical advice on IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, Companies Act, and emerging standards
- Lead client projects, ensuring outputs are technically sound, commercially insightful, and risk‑managed
- Build trusted, long‑term relationships with clients by deeply understanding their business model, challenges, and strategic priorities
Market positioning & business growth
- Develop innovative propositions, thought leadership, and tools that position the firm as a market leader in financial reporting advisory
- Proactively identify new business opportunities through your professional network, industry contacts, and internal firm connections
- Drive the financial performance of the service line, including pipeline development, pricing strategy, and efficiency improvements
- Act as an ambassador for the firm at external events, industry forums, and client meetings
People leadership & coaching
- Provide ongoing coaching, technical development, and performance feedback to team members at all levels
- Create an inclusive, supportive team culture that encourages learning, accountability, and collaboration
- Lead performance reviews for senior team members and actively develop future leaders within the team
- Develop and use an extensive and active internal network which crosses client service boundaries and generate leads
Knowing you’re right for us
Joining us as a Financial Reporting Advisory Director, the minimum criteria you’ll need is a professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA) with significant post qualification experience. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.
- Experience leading a substantial portfolio of clients or complex advisory projects
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS and UK GAAP; US GAAP experience is favourable
- Demonstrable experience in an accounting advisory, technical accounting, or financial reporting specialist function
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage senior stakeholder relationships, and deliver high‑quality client service
- A track record of business development success and an appetite for driving growth.
- Curiosity, commercial awareness, and a desire to innovate and improve maximising digital tools to create efficiencies
