Sussex Plumbing Supplies (‘SPS’) is a highly successful independent plumbers’ and heating merchant supplying trade and retail customers across Sussex and Kent. Headquartered in Polegate, East Sussex, with seven trade counters and four bathroom, heating and kitchen showrooms, SPS has demonstrated strong organic growth since its formation.
Independent Builders Merchant Group (‘IBMG’), are the largest independent builders merchant group in the South of England, supported by Cairngorm Capital.
We advised the shareholders of SPS on the initiation, preparation and execution of the transaction.
Our involvement covered all aspects of the M&A process, including the identification of prospective key strategic buyers, deal negotiations, management of the due diligence process and support during the legal drafting and completion processes.
The shareholders of SPS entered negotiations with IBMG in July 2021 and completed in October 2021.
Through driving a process with a high degree of competitive tension and detailed management, we were able to ensure that the shareholders’ objectives could be met in delivering a high-quality transaction with a strategic buyer in IBMG.
