Sanlam is a South African owned global financial services group headquartered in Bellville, Western Cape. As part of its decision to focus on its core territories, Sanlam made the decision to carve out and dispose of its UK wealth management division. The division was highly integrated within Sanlam.
Sanlam UK’s wealth management division provides a range of wealth management and wealth planning services, including discretionary fund management, multi-asset funds, model portfolio services, settlement and stockbroking services and other advice.
We were engaged to help prepare for the divestment, including financial, tax, regulatory, separation and tax structuring services in connection with the transaction.
We worked closely with Sanlam to coordinate the carve out and disposal processes, providing robust vendor assistance and separation planning services focusing on key risk areas.
We combined our strong sector expertise with the integrated approach taken across our teams to advise Sanlam, maximising value by providing bidders with confidence in the financial information available and in the separation and integration plan for the division post carve out.
