The Barrister Group (“TBG”), based in Taunton, was founded by Stephen Ward and Harry Hodgkin and is a disruptive tech-enabled legal services business focused on the barrister market.
Following a period of strong growth, the TBG shareholders wanted to partner with a private equity investor that could support them to accelerate their national growth plans and continue to build the business' brand awareness.
LDC secured exclusivity as a result of the strong relationship they had built with the founders and the value add they would bring for TBG. LDC and the shareholders recognised the potential for a broader management team to support the development of TBG, with LDC using their network to introduce a non-exec, a chairman and CFO.
We advised LDC throughout the transaction by providing comprehensive buy-side support including; project management, deal structuring and negotiations, exit review, financial modelling, and other acquisition advice.
We worked closely alongside LDC to deliver a successful outcome, using our extensive deal experience to provide pragmatic advice and solutions. We worked seamlessly with our TMT and BSS sector experts to bring additional insights and value add.
