I joined the insolvency and asset recovery team in December 2019 to spearhead business development and strategic deal origination for a new asset recovery fund, established with a third-party funder to finance large-ticket enforcement and asset recovery mandates. I was previously a fixed income and financial institutions banker with a background in Debt Capital Markets, structured finance and derivatives.
I focus primarily on banks and non-bank financials. My clients are work-out groups, specialist non-performing loans units, non-core asset teams, hedge funds and other holders of claims, distressed debt, judgments and awards. The fund allows us to present a collaborative work-out solution where the client’s downside is floored in return for a percentage of recoveries. The fund can also buy claims outright.
The fund allows the insolvency and asset recovery group to take on larger and more complex deals than was previously possible whilst raising its profile still further in the financial and professional services markets. Building trust and integrity in markets by helping large organisations and governments limit their losses and fight fraud and corruption is the overarching vision.
Away from work I am a keen rugby fan and actively involved in amateur ski racing both as a competitor and as chairman of Kandahar Racing, Britain’s premier Alpine ski race training organisation (kandaharracing.com).
