I lead the financial services tax team, providing advice, consultancy and support on tax matters to financial institutions. I joined the firm in 2006, bringing a range of experience from my previous roles at two leading professional services firms. Throughout my career, I have advised on many different UK and cross-border tax issues relevant to the financial services sector- with a particular focus on investment management, banking and securities.
With tax increasingly becoming a focus in an already heavily regulated sector, every day brings fresh challenges. It’s critical that firms can navigate through the multitude of tax issues facing them. I support clients in driving real value and growth through commercial and pragmatic tax planning advice, effective management of their increasing tax compliance obligations and helping clients adapt to new tax rules.
Whether it’s looking at tax implications for M&A, fund structuring, financing, tax strategy and risk management, tax reporting obligations or handling investigations – among many other matters – I work to ensure we supply a comprehensive service to financial institutions. We are also supporting firms on issues around the OECD’s Pillar One and Pillar Two proposals, which will significantly impact the sector.
Outside of work I enjoy the never-ending task of refurbishing my house, travelling, playing tennis, swimming and hosting good friends for dinner on a regular basis!
