Mo Merali new Chairman of ICAEW Corporate Finance Faculty

Mo Merali, Head of Private Equity at Grant Thornton UK LLP, has been appointed as the new Chairman of ICAEW’s Corporate Finance Faculty.

The Corporate Finance Faculty contributes to policy development, practical initiatives and many consultations by international organisations, governments, regulators and other professional bodies. Most recently this has included a significant contribution to the UK government’s Industrial Strategy, and producing the Business Finance Guidewith the British Business Bank which has reached over 1 million businesses and their advisors. The faculty has become the de-facto “voice of corporate finance” and the professional network which extends beyond members of ICAEW now includes 7,000 members and more than 80 member organisations.

Mo is an advisory partner and Head of Private Equity at Grant Thornton UK LLP, focussed on buy-side and sell-side due diligence and advisory support for corporate, private equity and institutional clients. He brings over 25 years of experience from Grant Thornton to the role, where he is also a member of the firm’s Partnership Oversight Board.
