Jake Green appointed as member of the IFRS Advisory Council

Jake Green, Director of Financial Reporting, at Grant Thornton UK LLP, has been appointed as a member of the IFRS Advisory Council. The appointment was made by the trustees of the IFRS Foundation, responsible for the governance and oversight of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

As one of 14 new Advisory Council members, Green will advise the IFRS Foundation on its strategic direction, technical work plan and priorities. New members are from a wide range of professional backgrounds across the industry and will take up their appointments from 1 January 2014.

Mark Cardiff, Head of Assurance, Grant Thornton UK LLP said, “We’re delighted Jake has been selected for the IFRS Advisory Council. This recognises the technical capability of the people at Grant Thornton; and along with Andrew Watchman of Grant Thornton International Limited’s appointment to the IFRIC, puts Grant Thornton at the centre of IFRS developments.”

The IFRS Foundation is the oversight body of the International Accounting Standards Board. The Foundation, through the IASB, is committed to developing a single set of high quality global accounting standards that require transparent and comparable information in general purpose financial statements.
