Grant Thornton UK LLP has been recognised as 'Accountancy Firm of the Year (Larger Clients)' at the annual FDs' Excellence Awards. Shortlisted amongst notable industry peers, Grant Thornton took home the top prize at an awards ceremony in London last night. This marks the third time in the last five years that Grant Thornton has won the accolade.
Held in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and supported by the CBI, the awards recognise the UK's brightest FDs and financial service providers.
Determined by the results of an annual Satisfaction Survey completed by 1,300 finance decision-makers, Grant Thornton was voted as Accountancy Firm of the Year for its work with large clients – defined as companies with an annual turnover in excess of £25m.
Commenting on the accolade, Scott Barnes, CEO of Grant Thornton UK LLP, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded 'Accountancy Firm of the Year' for our work with larger clients. The past year has seen our audit practice continue to grow and develop relationships with some of the UK's leading large and mid-sized organisations. Encouraged by recognition such as this award, we're undoubtedly in a great position to continue on this successful path."
Mark Cardiff, Partner and Head of Audit at Grant Thornton UK LLP, added: "This award is even more important as it is based on an independent survey of over 1,300 UK FDs of large organisations. Being ranked No1 for client service amongst all the UK’s leading accounting firms is clearly testament to the outstanding work our colleagues. It also shows that Grant Thornton is delivering that difference that leading UK businesses are looking for."
Grant Thornton was also recently named "Global Firm of the Year" at the British Accountancy Awards, an accolade also based on a survey of FDs.
