Grant Thornton marks Pride Month by uniting LGBT+ business leaders

To mark Pride Month 2018, leading business and financial adviser Grant Thornton UK LLP is hosting a breakfast event in conjunction with RAHM before joining the ‘Pride in London’ parade.

RAHM is the global LGBTQIA+ community and contest that brings together the most outstanding present and future LGBTQIA+ leaders in the world. Through an innovative contest and network designed to connect, inspire and support the next generation of LGBT leaders.

The event will take place on 7th July, ahead of the parade, in Grant Thornton’s London office and will recognise and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community whilst highlighting the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Speaking at the event is Stuart Cameron, founder of RAHM and also Malcolm Gomersall, Head of People & Client Experience, and Jenny Brown, LGBT+ lead at Grant Thornton.  The breakfast will unite LGBTQIA+ leaders from the public and private sector to inspire conversations that will enable people and places to flourish.

Following the event, individuals from Grant Thornton are delighted to be joining the Pride in London march organised by London LGBTQIA+ Community Pride CIC to support the organisation’s mission and the firm’s own diversity and inclusion agenda.

Malcolm Gomersall commented: “At Grant Thornton, our diversity and inclusion agenda is fundamental to our purpose of shaping a vibrant economy. We know that having a wider, more diverse talent pool leads to improved organisational performance, a better outcome for clients, a more productive economy and a far happier workforce.

“There is however always more to do and now, more than ever, businesses need to be creating environments which actively support diversity and encourage absolute inclusion, removing barriers that can impede the engagement and productivity of others.

“Marking Pride is a fantastic way to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community while drawing attention to the ongoing issue of diversity in the workplace and ensuring it remains a priority of businesses nationally.”

Ian Buchan, (LGBTQIA+ advocate) Grant Thornton UK LLP added: “We are delighted to be celebrating Pride once again and supporting this important agenda. We are looking forward to welcoming so many inspiring leaders to this event - an essential stepping stone to our own understanding of diversity and inclusion.”

Stuart Cameron, CEO of UHLALA, Founder of RAHM commented: "Throughout our events in London and all across the world, we are building with RAHM a global network of LGBTQIA+ talents and leaders. RAHM aims to smash the LGBTQIA+Leadership Gap and shape a better world for everyone. Let’s do it together. Let’s disrupt the LGBTQIA+ agenda with concrete actions.

This Pride breakfast in conjunction with Grant Thornton will celebrate the outstanding achievements of the RAHM LGBTQIA+ Leaders and bring together the RAHM Community during this PRIDE week in London.”
