Having decided I wanted to be a chartered accountant at the age of 18, I joined a large professional services firm as a school leaver in 1997. However I decided I wanted a change of focus and to work with dynamic and growing organisations, so in 2012 I decided to move to Grant Thornton.
I am delighted to have made partner and have a client portfolio consisting of a range of businesses including owner managed businesses, a number of listed companies (AIM and full) and a significant subsidiary of a US listed group. My clients are in a wide variety of sectors but have a particular focus on manufacturing and construction.
My ultimate aim is to ensure that my audit clients receive outstanding client service and more than just a signed audit opinion. I enjoy working with my clients and helping them to achieve their strategies, something as head of audit for the Birmingham office I am keen to ensure the whole department prides themselves on.
Outside of work I have two small girls which keep me very busy, but I also find time to keep fit as an active member of British Military Fitness.
