DB pensions: The Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act

Watch our webinar from 9 September, co-hosted by Grant Thornton and Pinsent Masons, with Malcolm Weir from the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) as guest speaker.

During the webinar, the hosts discussed the changes that have been introduced by the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020, and their implications for defined benefit (DB) pension schemes.

Paul Brice started the webinar with an overview of the interaction between sponsor insolvency events and DB pension schemes, before Nick Gavin-Brown covered the new law and its implications. Carolyn Saunders discussed the specific implications for trustees, and Phil Green detailed the implications for sponsors. Finally, Malcolm Weir gave an update on his thoughts from the standpoint of the PPF.
