I joined Grant Thornton in 2015 as a tax director in the firm's new Essex office. I have more than 16 years' tax experience working with listed, international and private businesses. The first 12 years of this were working in-house, latterly as the head of tax for two FTSE-listed companies, before moving into practice for the first time. My in-house roles gave me a varied and unique perspective on tax management, which I now endeavour to bring to each of my clients through commercially focused advice.
In my current role I work closely with our Ipswich office and the new Essex team to grow the practice and to identify opportunities to bring new ideas to existing clients and contacts.
Outside of work my partner and I have three children who keep me occupied for a significant proportion of my time – any excess is spent watching sport and reminiscing about playing football in my youth.
