With nearly 30 years of accounting experience, mostly as a forensic accountant advising clients in disputes and investigations, I've been instructed as an expert accounting witness or adviser by individuals, public listed companies and government bodies in several hundred assignments. I have developed particular expertise in insurance claims, having worked on some of the largest claims arising from property damage ever submitted in the UK.
Throughout my career, I have worked from a Birmingham base, although I have undertaken many assignments overseas in North America, South America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. I have given oral evidence as an expert witness in High Court, Crown Court, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, arbitration and employment tribunal hearings.
My expertise and approach to assignments has led to appointments as independent expert in completion accounts and expert determinations arising from acquisitions, and as single joint expert in court proceedings.
I'm an enthusiastic participant in outdoor activities, particularly in long-distance running. The most challenging was a non-stop race along the Pennine Way in winter. The official distance was 268 miles – excluding getting lost.
