I have more than 20 years’ experience in tax. My core area of expertise is dealing with tax issues faced by entrepreneurial businesses and individuals. This takes in UK and international aspects from both a corporate and personal tax perspective, as many of my clients have business and/or personal links outside the UK.

I help to unlock valuable tax reliefs for earlier stage businesses (including their investors) to help them on their initial growth path. And I provide tax advice to businesses which raise additional growth funding, bring in new investors, incentivise key management or perhaps de-risk by selling stakes to other investors.

I help to develop a tax strategy that fits with the commercial objectives of the business and the personal goals of stakeholders, through to the later phases of their lifecycle. This ranges from helping with succession planning to realising value on an exit and then planning to preserve that wealth for current and future generations.

I am a keen (but inept) guitarist and also enjoy live music, walking and following the (mis)fortunes of Rochdale AFC.
