I support clients across financial services and help them to understand the implications for their business model. As well as supporting clients, I brief our internal teams and meet with regulators to help them shape their thinking.
In a previous role, I was head of unit-linked funds for the workplace pensions book. I have also worked in the actuarial team of a Big 4 consultancy covering a range of risk, capital and customer outcomes projects.
I am involved in a number of related industry initiatives:
- I sit on the IFOA’s (Institute and Faculty of Actuaries) Resource & Environment Board, where I lead on life sector and defined contribution pensions
- I sit on the National Advisory Board for Impact Investing steering group on competence and confidence – working towards recommendations for government to build financial services capability in this space.
I also recently founded a small environmental charity, Protect Our Winters UK, which works with consumer brands and elite athletes to encourage positive action on climate change.
I am based in Edinburgh where I live with my wife Jo and 2 small children, Rosie and Digby. We particularly enjoy the outdoors and can often be found on the beach, weather permitting!
