With more than 30 years' experience of being a tax specialist, I provide pragmatic and commercially focused advice for entrepreneurial clients – them and their business, large and smaller – for whom I often act as overall engagement lead. My clients say that I provide a friendly and thoughtful approach.
I have a keen interest in the property and construction sector of which I was the national head until 2006, but have a more local focus now as a member of the Investment Property Forum Northern Board. I am also a leader in the north-west professional practices sector, greatly helped by my own leadership roles such as being the former Liverpool office managing partner. I also enjoy working across other key sectors such as logistics and food, as well as with many great clients and contacts in North Wales.
I am proud to be a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee for the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), where I am passionate about supporting the growth of the region. I have a passion for the north-west as well as its people, very much reflected in my pride in our Liverpool-based team.
Outside of work I enjoy horse hacks (with my daughter), country walking (with my wife), a 56-year-old Ferguson tractor and Everton FC.
