As a qualified actuary who has advised trustees and scheme employers on their pension funding and risks for over 15 years, my focus is to grow and develop our pensions scheme de-risking practice.

Previously I have specialised in the buy-in and buy-out markets since the market expanded in 2007, developing initial pricing estimates and an understanding of how relative pricing value has compared over time. I have led on and completed numerous annuity transactions with a range of different providers, ranging from small partial pensioner buy-ins to full risk transfer via buyouts and solvent wind ups.

I have also specialised in asset liability modelling to provide understanding on the scale and range of individual pension scheme risks, their correlation and the mitigation of these through flight plan designs, LDI or liability management options.

Outside work, I live in Glasgow with my wife and two boys. I like to pretend I am still fit enough to play football each week and snowboard a few times a year. Since my move north of the border (I am originally a man of Kent) I have adopted Partick Thistle as my Scottish football team and regularly attend games. I am also an aspiring software developer with whatever time I have left over.
