I am an innovation tax specialist, meaning that I advise companies on how to take advantage of the tax reliefs available to support research and development (R&D), patented products and processes, and other more targeted reliefs such as video games tax relief. For many of my clients this means getting approved tax refunds from HMRC which can fund additional growth. I work with a broad range of companies including our largest R&D clients, ensuring their claims are maximised, and agreed promptly, or in advance, with HMRC.
Over the last 12 years I have worked in corporate tax, specialising in innovation tax over the last 9 years. This means I always view innovation tax reliefs in the wider tax context, ensuring that our advice is practical and fits my client’s tax strategy. I really enjoy finding out about my clients’ new products/services and future plans and being part of enabling and supporting their future ambitions.
I recently undertook a secondment to Grant Thornton International Limited which has expanded my broader tax knowledge and understanding of doing business internationally.
