I joined the firm in July 1994 and became a tax partner in 1997, and later head of tax for the North West practice. I then joined our Partnership Oversight Board and I have more recently been appointed as head of tax and a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, leading our UK tax business. As well as my head of tax role I still have an active client facing role.
This role brings a different challenge every day. One day I may be providing tax deal support to colleagues in corporate finance or supporting a client on a complex technical issue; another, I will be in a full day strategy meeting focussed on our business and our future direction.
I work with a range of clients, from entrepreneurial start-ups to fully listed public limited companies to high net worth individuals. I have many PE backed clients and so have deep expertise in the opportunities and challenges they face. Whoever I am working with the aim remains the same: to give pragmatic, commercial advice that’s tailored to the client’s needs at each stage of their business life cycle
Outside of work my husband and I have five children who keep us busy and we are now moving into the next generation with two grandchildren who arrived in 2019. I am a member of the North West Development Committee for the Prince’s Trust and a governor at Mount St Joseph in Farnworth near Bolton. I train regularly at the gym, love holidays and seeing the world, have recently taken up Latin and ballroom dancing, and joined a choir.
