As a Director in the Pensions Advisory I have over ten years’ experience of providing employer covenant advice to both pension trustees and corporate sponsors of defined benefit schemes. My primary areas of focus include:

  • covenant assessments in connection with triennial valuations for scheme-specific funding purposes
  • assessing the impact of corporate transactions on financial covenant
  • PPF levy management and assessing guarantees for PPF certification
  • advising clients in relation to their interaction with the Pensions Regulator and Pension Protection Fund.

I am proud to have worked on numerous high-profile accounts, some of which have led to our team winning several awards, including Pensions Team of the Year at the British Accountancy Awards and Turnaround & Transform Adviser at the Institute for Turnaround Awards.

I worked on secondment as a business analyst in the defined benefit funding team at the Pensions Regulator for six months in 2011, experience which now enables me to provide clients with a unique and clear insight into the regulatory regime. My focus was on reviewing the strength of corporate sponsor covenants, the adequacy of recovery plans and the assessment of clearance applications in corporate transactions, refinancing and restructurings.

I was included in Accountancy Age's 35 under 35 in 2015 and I am a Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) accredited mediator. I am a member of the pitch for investment panel of the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, which works to support entrepreneurial education throughout the UK. My role involves listening to and critiquing entrepreneurs' business plans and pitches for investment into their new micro-businesses.

Outside of work I am a keen sportsman have been involved in a variety of charitable sporting challenges including cycling from London to Brighton and the Three Peaks Challenge, which I completed in less than 24 hours to raise money for Marie Curie. My participation in sports and challenges has had to take a back seat following the arrival my two young children in 2014 and 2016.
