I enjoy advising my clients on the indirect tax (VAT, GST and sales tax) implications of their global footprint and international supply chain. My main area of focus is advising multinational clients on entering new markets, launching new products or services, and providing commercial and scalable solutions to meet their global indirect tax compliance requirements.
I have a particular interest in using technology and automated solutions to enhance the tax compliance process and lead Grant Thornton’s offerings in this area. Indirect tax has been my specialism for more than 10 years, during which time I also spent 18 months in Chicago acting as a global indirect tax manager for US-headquartered multinationals.
I collaborate with Grant Thornton member firms across the globe to provide clear, concise and commercial advice. I also work closely with our strategic partners including Thomson Reuters, Vertex and NetSuite, to provide my clients with impartial technology and to ensure ERP, tax engine and compliance tool implementations are scalable yet localised to meet specific local challenges or requirements.
I sit on the editorial board of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation in the US, and take an active role in Grant Thornton International’s global indirect tax training programmes.
When not working I enjoy travelling although I am fortunate with my work as I get to regularly travel the globe working on international projects for clients. I also love cricket and still manage to pick up a bat a couple of times a year, or follow the fortunes of the England team home and away.
