As director of public affairs, policy and insights my role is to provide advice on political and regulatory change. I am also Brexit leader in Grant Thornton, advising our clients across all sectors and our own board on Brexit planning.
I joined Grant Thornton in 2014 after 20 years working in senior positions across government and the private sector including:
- Senior leadership positions in the UK government civil service including the UK Representation to the EU in Brussels, the Department for Transport, and as a speechwriter to cabinet ministers.
- Finance Director at the Department of Trade and Industry and director of small business policy and programmes at the Department for Business and Skills.
- Director of public policy at Tesco Plc, leading their public affairs and government relations in the UK and EU from 2006-08.
I am a member of the London & International Insurance Brokers Association (LIIBA) Brexit working group and the Financial Reporting Council Brexit Working Group.
I am also chair of the Business with Purpose working group of the UK National Advisory Board on Impact Investing and a trustee of Watermans Arts Centre in West London.
My wife and I enjoy walking our adopted dogs and dancing to '80s indie music.
