Leading business and financial advisory firm Grant Thornton UK LLP has transformed the way it selects trainee talent.
Every year the firm looks for over 350 trainees to join one of its four programmes: graduate or school leaver or a pipeline programme such as summer intern or 12 month placement.
The team has completely refreshed the approach that is used to assess suitability for going through to each stage of the interview process. It no longer automatically screens out applicants based on their academic results and instead of strict academic criteria the firm now looks at that as one element, amongst other factors that have been identified as equally, if not more, important. The firm has also streamlined the application process, updated its assessment tools and created further tactics to help identify and prioritise great talent.
The new approach uses key indicators to help identify good people, who fit with the company culture, quickly and more effectively.
