Our short video outlines questions for public sector organisations to ask in defending against cyber crime.

The public sector has made considerable strides towards becoming data-driven organisations, and increasingly automating and integrating data, to be able to allocate resources better and to create innovative products.

Equally important as analysing this data is protecting it. The most common form of cyber attack against public sector bodies is the use of stolen information to commit fraud, which can then potentially be used as ransom for financial gain. Government network infrastructure also provides cyber criminals with a platform on which they can carry out spam and phishing emails.

It is key that public sector organisations take the necessary steps to protect themselves from potential attacks and ensuring the basics, such as good governance structures, regular monitoring and good levels of security awareness, are in place.
