Grant Thornton trainee gains top marks in Association of
Taxation Technicians exams
Lee Waterson, Corporate Tax Associate in Grant Thornton's
Bristol office has been awarded the LexisNexis Prize from the
Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT), for obtaining the
highest total marks for taking all four exam papers at one
sitting.
Waterson commented on his exam success, "I am very pleased with
my results and to be awarded such a well-recognised industry
prize. I found it particularly useful that the ATT offered a
modular exam structure. In particular, the varied experiences
gained from my client portfolio served to supplement my exam
preparation."
Carolyn Allen, Senior Tax Manager at Grant Thornton comments,
"The LexisNexis prize is awarded when performance has been of an
exceptionally high standard and Lee's performance reflects this.
Grant Thornton provides exceptional training facilities that
actively encourages all employees to further their career."
To gain the highest marks whilst sitting all four exam papers in
one sitting is a tremendous accomplishment and is justly deserved
due to Lee's consistent hard work and commitment both to his
studies and client portfolio. It is an award that very few
candidates are likely to achieve," Allen says.
In total, 287 candidates attempted the required four papers for
membership and of those 138 (48%) passed all four papers. The
ATT provides qualifications for individuals employed in the
taxation industry, commerce and the public sector, as well as those
employed in professional practices.
