Since 2000 I have been involved with clients in the financial services industry, principally funds (listed investment trusts and venture capital trusts, and open-ended investment companies and unit trusts). I have also been involved with firms regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
My experience covers accounting and reporting by funds, as well as carrying out audits. I have extensive experience of reporting on client assets to the FCA. Over the years I've been involved with investigations (both civil and criminal matters, and accounting issues generally). A major part of my time is spent providing technical support and advice to, and problem-solving for, Grant Thornton's financial services audit team.
In addition to my client work, I am a trustee of the Robson Rhodes Retirement Benefits Scheme, and am a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants' global forum for audit and assurance, Financial Reporting Council's client assets working group and the Investment Association accountancy firms working group.
Outside work, I am married and enjoy fresh air and country walks. Over the years, I have owned shares in various racehorses and enjoy watching their races.
