I have three managerial roles built on 25 years of experience of providing commercial tax advice: head of tax for the north-west region, national head of stamp taxes for Grant Thornton and head of the real estate group, again for the north-west.
Every day brings a different challenge. One day I may be providing tax deal support to colleagues in corporate finance or acting as a consultant on a complex technical issue; another, I will be advising clients on tax compliance or maximising tax efficiency.
I work with a range of clients, from entrepreneurial start-ups to fully listed public limited companies to high net worth individuals. But the aim remains the same: to give pragmatic, commercial advice that’s tailored to the client’s needs at each stage of their business life cycle. Seeing them unlock their potential for growth makes for thoroughly enjoyable work.
