I joined Grant Thornton as a graduate 30 years ago when I qualified as a tax practitioner. During this time I have focused my attention to advising farmers and land owners and now lead the Agricultural practice in the South. I specialise in rural business structures, succession and land transactions, both from a tax and commercial perspective.
My clients vary in size from 10,000 acre estates to small holdings, and include farmers and growers, and landlords and tenants. I advise across the full range of taxes including income, capital gains and inheritance as well as VAT and stamp duty land tax, leading to both commercial and tax effective business structures. In addition I am experienced in development land transactions.
I advise on accounting and taxation aspects on all types of business structures including companies, partnerships, trusts and sole traders, as well as business arrangements including contract farming, share farming and tenancies.
Outside of work I am a keen golfer and enjoy walking and other country pursuits.
